meet-1

Kids Vision for Life St. Louis welcomed two new optometrists to our team, Dr. Christy Hayes and Dr. Kim Brown in the 2016 school year. We spoke with Dr. Brown to learn more about her interest in eye health and her role within our program.

When did you first become interested in eye health?/Why did you choose to go into optometry?
I always wanted to do something in health care, when I went to the eye doctor in high school, I decided this was something I could do and decided to pursue a career in Optometry.

What is your favorite part of being an eye doctor?
My favorite part of being an eye doctor is that I never do the same thing each day. I love the variety of the patients I see!

What is your favorite part of working with KVFL?
Working with the kids is the best part of KVFL. I love knowing that by providing these children with glasses we can positively impact their education and possibly change their lives!

Any hobbies, interests, pets, etc outside of work?
I have a husband, a 3 month old daughter, Sadie, and two boxer dogs that take up a majority of my time! We like to go on walks and sit out on our patio!
